Introducing the newest reality program for sewing enthusiasts of all kinds, whether you love to quilt, make garments or do Home Dec. Apply for your passport for a small fee, then mark your calendar for the 2nd Saturday or the following Monday of each month. Meetings start promptly at 10:30am and will last about an hour. The Sewing Race will take 9 months excluding January, June and December as we trek to different countries from around the world. Each month you will receive 2 free patterns, one quilt and one other project. All quilts are scrap quilts so they will be a great way to make a dent in your stash. Hints and instructions for the quilt and the project will be given each month. Optional kits will be available for purchase. We will include time for Show and Tell from any participant. We will stamp passports each month. You have the opportunity to collect up to 8 stamps each month. Sewing enthusiasts who collect the most stamps in their passport at the end of the race will win one of the following: 1st- $100 Sampler Gift Certificate, 2nd - $50 Sampler Gift Certificate, 3rd - $25 Sampler Gift Certificate. Drawing in case of tie. Most stamps per month wins $5 Gift Certificate

Note: Passport stamps will be awarded as follows. Attend the meeting 1, Partially finished quilt 1, Partially finished project 1, Finished quilted project 3, Finished project 3, Other Show and Tell 1(more than one Show and Tell allowed but only one stamp is given).

If you love to appliqué, experienced or otherwise, and would like to spend some time away from the phone, we’re setting some time aside for you here at The Sampler. Gather up your projects and have fun gabbing with others who share the same passion of appliqué. Save the first and 3rd Wednesdays 10AM-4PM . Please register.  $5.00 per session. Of course, a 10% discount is offered on any purchases made during the day.

Enjoy a Sunday afternoon learning techniques and gathering tips on the art of hand applique. This workshop will help take the fear out of the "A" word. Whether you have never hand appliqued before or you want to learn new techniques, this class will provide the answers. Bring in your own pattern or pick something from our wide variety of applique patterns and books. Hand applique opens many opportunities in quilting and is known to lower blood pressure.  Given at time of registration

Beginning Machine Quilting	$35.00 one Session(s)

This class is for the beginning machine quilter. Students who have either done a little machine quilting on their own or who have never attempted it at all. A basic understanding of the quilt making process is required. Preferably each student will have already constructed at least one quilt top. This is a very comprehensive class that covers everything you will need to know for doing your own machine quilting. Students will be introduced to the walking foot and taught free motion quilting as well. The students will purchase a kit for $5.00 consisting of 6 different batting samples that they will learn to quilt on. This gives the student the opportunity to take home a sample to wash and will help them when they need to buy batting. A basic understanding of the following necessary equipment will be taught. This information will help the student to make educated purchases in the future. 1. Sewing machine needle types. 2. Thread brands and fiber content 3. Batting types and brands 4. Quilting stencils and related products.  Supply list will be given out at the time of registration.

In this class students will use raw-edge applique and thread painting to create a beautiful picture on a container. It is useful for a variety of small items, and with a vase placed inside it, can even be a container for a plant. The container will be provided by the instructor, the cost to students is #43.00. It is 5" in height and 6" in diameter. We will line the inside and cover the bottom.  Supply list will be given out at the time of registration. You will learn all of the steps for a beautiful spring or summer landscape class done in raw edge applique with thread painting. Just the right fabrics are key to the painterly look, and we will spend time finding the right ones for you if you're unsure of your own pieces. You will learn how to thread paint to make your landscape look very realistic. With step-by-step instructions and time to practice, you will become a confident fabric landscape 'painter' (but without a drop of paint!)  Supply list will be handed out at time of registration.

So gather up your projects and join in for a mad-cap night of fun, sewing, pizza & pop. After all, we need to keep up our nourishment! Advance registration is requested.  Whatever you need to work on the project you are bringing.

Kick off your shoes and dare to become part of our "Stripper Fun"!! The Club will meet only 4 times a year. Each meeting will feature a mystery quilt design made only from strips. There is NO CHARGE for the meeting but the pattern is $2.50. During the month prior to the meeting, we will show the fabrics that we will be using in the quilt. We hope it will peak your interest to come to the meeting to see the finished quilt. We'll share some tips for making the quilt. We will have kits available if you wish to duplicate the quilt or you may want to use your own fabrics. We will also demonstrate any tools that will make it easier for you. We will have some drawings for door prizes, too. We ask that you register even though the class is FREE so we know how many to expect. Sound like fun?  No supplies are needed. Come at 10am and sew till your hearts content!! Need some help with something? We can accommodate you on that. Advanced registration is recommended.  $5.00 per session and that gives you a 10% discount for any purchases during the day.
