All You Need to Know About Machine Quilting	$40.00 one Session(s)

This class is for the beginning machine quilter. Students who have either done a little machine quilting on their own or who have never attempted it at all. A basic understanding of the quilt making process is required. Preferably each student will have already constructed at least one quilt top. This is a very comprehensive class that covers everything you will need to know for doing your own machine quilting. Students will be introduced to the walking foot and taught free motion quilting as well. The students will purchase a kit for $5.00 consisting of 6 different batting samples that they will learn to quilt on. This gives the student the opportunity to take home a sample to wash and will help them when they need to buy batting. A basic understanding of the following necessary equipment will be taught. This information will help the student to make educated purchases in the future. 1. Sewing machine needle types. 2. Thread brands and fiber content 3. Batting types and brands 4. Quilting stencils and related products.  Supply list will be given out at the time of registration.

Gather up your projects and have fun gabbing with others who share the same passion of appliqué. Save the first and 3rd Wednesdays 10AM-4PM . Please register.  $5.00 per session. Of course, a 10% discount is offered on any purchases made during the day.

Wendy will teach you the applique fiber technique where all edges are turned under and only you will know that it was all done quickly and easily by machine. I will teach you the perfect settings for your machine & which needles & threads work best for this technique. We will be using the "Garden Gate" pattern by Applique Art. Learn to make a simple building and a water area with reflections! This class is done in raw edge applique. If you've always wanted to make a fabric landscape of your home or cabin, this class will get you started. Bring a picture suitable for an 8x10 mat and frame. You may bring your mat and frame to class to help you decide on fabric colors. Your machine must be ready to use, feed dogs up or down, stitch with both straight and zigzag stitches and you must be confortable with free motion stitching. A darning foot or free motion foot is necessary for this class. Bring fabrics you might like to use, or let the intructor help you choose some at The Sampler just as class starts.  Supply sheet given at registration Meeting Time: Sat. Due to popular demand, we are opening our classroom for all machine embroiderers wishing to work on their own projects while being inspired and learning from others. We have blocked off the first Tuesday of each month from 10am-4pm beginning January 6th. No registration is necessary, just come any first Tuesday. The cost will be $5/time attended and you may pay the day you attend. The group may go next door to Millies for lunch or order in pizza etc. Anyone attending will receive a 10% discount on all regular priced merchandise in the store that day (quilt shop merchandise and Bernina.) A Bernina staff person will be available to answer any questions you may have.

Don't be afraid to play with all of the attachments and different stitches on your sewing machine! We will be using the "All About Machine Arts, Decorative Techniques from A to Z" book to learn the techniques to create a beautiful thread embellished bag including couching, making perfect circles, thread painting, bobbin drawing, using two threads in one needle, twin needle sewing, satin stitching, Libby Lehman's ribbon illusions, using metallic thread and much more. This class will touch on the basics of free-motion machine embroidery. You will learn to adjust tension, work with stabilizers and use a hoop for more control. By the time you finished you will know how to use your machine to its full extent. You will learn to use many kinds of thread including metallic, poly, rayon, bobbin thread and invisible. You do not have to have a fancy machine for this class or be an expert quilter. As long as you have a straight stitch, zigzag and are able to drop or cover the feed dog, you can do everything.  Supply sheet given at registration
