All New Sampler Serger Club $10.00 Ongoing Session(s)

All makes and models of Sergers welcome. There will be a $10 charge for the first session. If you bring a finished project to the next session, using the technique presented at the previous session, the next session is free. Otherwise, there is another charge. This should encourage everyone to master the techniques so that they don't forget them. Find out how to get the most out of your serger. Get comfortable threading your serger in a variety of applications. We will have many different types of projects, something to suit everyone. Serger slipper socks, quilting projects, zipper pouches, eyeglass cases to name just a few. Bring your serger and be ready for a fun filled afternoon.  Supply list given at registration

If you love to appliqué, experienced or otherwise, and would like to spend some time away from the phone, we’re setting some time aside for you here at The Sampler. A 10% discount is offered on any purchases made during the day.

You will learn all of the steps for a beautiful spring or summer landscape class done in raw edge applique with thread painting. Just the right fabrics are key to the "painterly" look. We will spend time finding the right ones for you if your're unsure of your own pieces. You will learn how to thread paint to make your landscape look very realistic. With step-by-step instructions, and time to practice, you will become a confident fabric landscape "Painter" (but without a drop of paint!)  Supply list given at registration.

Bernina Free-motion Quilting with Bernina Stitch Regulator (BSR) $25.00 1 Session(s)

If you don't have your own Bernina Sewing machine with the BSR, you may borrow one. Just be sure to reserve it when signing up. With a few basic tips and tricks, you'll soon be a master of free-motion stitching with the Bernina Stich Regulator. From quilting to thread painting, a wide variety of effects can b e sewn using free motion stitching. Even though the final results may look very different, most free motion techniques are stitched in a similar manner. If you become comfortable with one, you can easily transfer those skills to another technique. The BSR makes it simple for everyone to be an expert at free motion stitching. The BSR presser foot reacts to the movement of the fabric under the foot, thereby controlling sewing speed. The set stitch length is maintained, irrespective of the movement of the fabric.  Supply list given at registration

We have blocked off the first Tues. of each month from 10-4. The cost will be $5/time attended and you may pay the day you attend. The group may go next door to Millies for lunch or bring your own. Anyone attending will receive a 10% discount on all regular priced merchandise in the store that day (quilt shop merchandise and Bernina.) A Bernina staff person will be available to answer any questions you may have

We are starting a new Virtual Bernina Club. Come and learn some new techniques. Each session will incorporate a presentation by a Virtual Bernina educator, and a hands-on opportunity will follow with the guidance of one of our staff members. These opportunities will be hosted on the web y trained Bernina educators. You will learn many new techniques, and learn about new products and how to use them. You do NOT need to bring your machine. CD of presentation and porject included. There will be a $10 charge for the firsat session. If yuou bring a finished project to the next session, using the technique presented at the previous session, the next session is free. Otherwise, there is a another charge. Susan Stein, local fabric artist and author, will teach us about Lutrador, an interfacing that's strong as iron but easy to paint and cut, making soft books, interesting layers, and mysterious burned away surfaces. More Techniques in Fabric Landscapes $55.00 2 Session(s)

This two-part class is a great follow-up to Bonnie's beginning landscape class. You will learn more details for creating that specific landscape you have in mind. Bring some pictures to the first session and you will learn how to choose "the one" to make in fabric. In the same session, you will make your fabric selections and begin sewing the background vegetation. Additionally, you will learn how to resize your building and get it ready for the second class. Before the second class, you will (hopefully!) finish your background and get any structures resized and copied as you will want them in the picture. You will choose fabrics and thread for the building. The second class will show you how to get your building accurately into your picture. You will learn how to finish the building and foreground. When you leave this class you will know how to finish and frame your picture.  Supply list given at registration

Beginning in February the Sampler will be offering a new, original Saturday Sampler. Join us for some great demos, new block patterns and of course fabulous fabrics. Here are the details: Will be held on the 2ND SAT. of the month OR the FOLLOWING MON. at 10:30 AM COST for year: *$15 receive 15 block patterns to be used with your own fabrics. *$25 receive 12 block patterns and fabrics for the blocks plus 3 extra block pattern to be used with your own fabrics. *$50 receive 12 block patterns and fabric for 24 blocks plus 3 extra block patterns to be used with your own fabrics. Everyone will receive finishing instructions. Choose from 2 colorways: warm or cool. If you miss a month come in and receive your pattern and fabric for $5 (pattern only will be $1) At the next month meeting, bring in your finished block and your name will be placed in a drawing for some great prizes that day and for a grand prize at the end of the year.

We are going to have some of our own March Madness with a Sampler "Quilt-In" retreat. Sew on your own, with friends, and/or take classes from the Sampler staff. We will have an on-site room with good lighting and lots of space to sew. You'll also have indoor access to the Shop to pick up any supplies you need or may have forgotten to bring along. The base price includes lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, snacks and all of the fun, games surprises, and cameraderie that will be part of the weekend. We'll be making one of the fun table runners/wallhangings from Claudia's new book, "A Passion for Piecing". This one is called "Summer Sunshine" and incorporates a Fan block with Palm Leaf setting triangles, all paper-pieced, constructed with Claudia's Magic Three-Pin Method of sewing curves. The last part of the class will be an imagination and brainstorming session about using the blocks you just made, in other settings --- changing values, colors and adding other blocks, to make your own designs. Wildflowers II Block of the Month $70.00 9 - once a month Session(s)

as our gardens are starting to die, along comes “More Wildflowers” A colorful Block of the Month quilt starting in Sept. finishing in May, just in time for spring. We will be doing 6 embroidery blocks .and 6 pieced blocks, along with a gorgeous pieced border. Class will be offered in the morning and in the evening, so no matter what your schedule is there’s a time for you!  Supply sheet will be given out at time of registration.
Meeting Time: December 15, Jan, 19, etc.   OR  3rd Tues Evening 6-8PM each month
